“European industrial policy for competitiveness and transformation”
From 17:30 to 20:00 today, the alliance “Zukunft der Industrie” will be discussing with representatives from European politics and representatives of industry and trade unions at the Representation of the State of North Rhein-Westphalia in Brussels (conference room Macke/Ernst).
Speaking Points
- We must find a European answer to “protect” against unfair practices of third parties, to “promote” and strengthen Europe’s own competitiveness and to “partner” and cooperate with like-minded countries, for example within the framework of FTAs.
- It is high time for Europe to focus its political compass on competitiveness. We expect clear measures for innovation, a reduction of bureaucracy and lower energy prices in Europe.
- Only through targeted investments in a climate-friendly industry and the pooling of European and national funds can the EU live up to its role as a global pioneer in climate protection.
- The European Commission’s omnibus package to simplify the EU legal framework for sustainability must be the starting point. A radical reduction of regulatory burdens must be an absolute priority if Europe is to become a robust international competitor again.
- We urgently need an EU-wide harmonized, low-bureaucracy and technology-promoting implementation of the adopted digital regulation.
