SUMMARY:European Policy for Innovation\, Transformation and Employment
DESCRIPTION:PRO­GRAM CON­FE­RENCE in BRUSSELS\nEuro­pe must work tog­e­ther to dis­mant­le bar­riers and fos­ter inno­va­ti­on. The reports of Mr. Draghi and Mr. Let­ta empha­si­ze that frag­men­ta­ti­on and dif­fe­ring natio­nal regu­la­ti­ons hin­der the trans­fer\, sca­ling\, and com­mer­cia­liza­ti­on of new technologies.  \nClo­ser Euro­pean coor­di­na­ti­on with less bureau­cra­cy\, clea­rer prio­ri­ties\, and poo­led invest­ments is essen­ti­al to streng­then Europe’s posi­ti­on in inter­na­tio­nal com­pe­ti­ti­on with the United Sta­tes and Chi­na and to bet­ter levera­ge Europe’s tech­no­lo­gi­cal potential. \nJoint pro­gram­mes\, har­mo­ni­zed fun­ding instru­ments\, and a more inte­gra­ted sin­gle mar­ket can acce­le­ra­te the impact of inno­va­ti­on\, faci­li­ta­te busi­ness growth\, and keep value crea­ti­on within Euro­pe. At the same time\, more coher­ent\, inno­va­ti­on-fri­end­ly regu­la­ti­on and a more stra­te­gi­cal­ly ali­gned EU bud­get will crea­te the foun­da­ti­on for a stron­ger and more effec­ti­ve Euro­pean inno­va­ti­on eco­sys­tem. This con­fe­rence aims to assess what actions the EU must take to ful­ly harness the­se vital opportunities. \nTo advan­ce public dis­cour­se on inno­va­ti­on poli­cy and enhan­ce the con­fe­rence\, the Alli­ance will pre­sent a posi­ti­on paper on ‘Euro­pean Poli­cy for Inno­va­ti­on\, Trans­for­ma­ti­on and Employment’.
